Julianna & Matthew

Julianna always dreamed of having her wedding at Birchwood Manor since she was a little girl. Not only were her parents married here, but she also celebrated her first communion party here. And of course, we were honored and thrilled to help Julianna and Matthew plan their big day!

Although they planned for their ceremony to be outside in the Arbor gardens, the weather wasn’t cooperating. Fortunately, they were able to take photos outside during a break in the rain.

Inside, their alternate ceremony was set in the Madison room, which happened to be the very room where Julianna had celebrated her communion party when she was seven. To unexpectedly get married in the same room where you first dreamed of your wedding is true serendipity!

Their deluxe cocktail hour included so many dishes that there was something for everyone’s liking. Some of the stations included a wok stir fry station with chicken lo mein in oyster sauce, captain’s pasta station serving lobster ravioli in a sherry cream sauce, and chef’s carving station with teriyaki flank steak, and roast suckling pig with applesauce chutney.

Julianna’s father surprised them with matching Minnie and Mickey Mouse ice carvings displayed as centerpieces for the elaborate Tuscan antipasto station.

Dinner was served in the Grand Ballroom followed by dancing and theatrics. Then for dessert, Julianna and Matthew chose a custom baked wedding cake from our bakery – vanilla cake with a rustic cream cheese frosting design. In addition, a full Viennese dessert display was set in the East Lounge and included layer cakes, cheesecakes, pastries, mousses, chocolate dipped fruits, ice creams, and Italian ices.

A very sweet evening!
