Mary & Derek

Autumn is a beautiful season to get married when the colors are spectacular and it’s not too hot and not too rainy. And so it was, a picture-perfect wedding day in mid-October for Mary & Derek.

Their ‘first look’ took place out in the Pergola on the East Lawn. The couple had a chance to take a quiet moment to themselves before the ceremony and celebrations.

Mary and Derek exchanged vows in an Arbor ceremony set in the West Gardens. Many close friends and family witnessed as they professed their love for each other among the tranquil sound of waterfalls, fountains, and nature.

After the ceremony, guests were welcomed into the cocktail hour with a glass of champagne and fresh berries. Butler passed hors d’oeuvres included baby lamb chops, clams casino, mini crabcakes, beef empanadas, and several more. There was an assortment of seven hot chafing dishes including fried calamari, seafood paella, and stuffed shells marinara. A pasta station was serving penne alla vodka and cavatelli & broccoli made to order.

After the cocktail hour, guests were directed into the Jefferson Ballroom for dinner where they had a choice of main entrée, either herb roasted prime rib, chicken francese, or grilled salmon with an orange-ginger glaze. For dessert, Mary and Derek chose a nearly naked wedding cake from our bakery, custom baked with two different tiers, one with white cake and strawberry custard filling, and the other with black and white cake and chocolate pudding filling. An ice cream sundae bar with assorted toppings was also available to the delight of all their guests.

From ceremony to celebration, their wedding was beyond amazing!

Wishing Mary & Derek a lifetime of happiness together!
